About the Project

JE Films stepped onto the sheer granite faces of Yosemite National Park to capture the jaw-dropping journey of seven-year-old Sam Baker as he trains with his father, Joe Baker, to become the youngest person in history to ascend the legendary monolith of El Capitan. Our production team embedded into the high-altitude landscape to capture the feature narrative, "A Million Miles High," chronicling Sam’s historic, record-breaking sends up the 1,200-foot Fairview Dome in Tuolumne and the dizzying 2,800-foot vertical expanse of The Lost Arrow Spire.

Documenting an elite athletic feat in extreme conditions required immense technical precision, specialized rigging, and an agile narrative approach. As a full-service narrative film production company based in VA, JE Films blended the rugged mechanics of expedition filmmaking with a deeply intimate, character-driven story. The resulting film captured the attention of national media networks, sparking features on Men's Journal, The Huckabee Show, and The Kelly and Ryan Show.
